Netviewer instead of server room

The Netviewer servers carry out the safety check, connection and communication of Netviewer remote sessions. By this architecture Netviewer remote admin guarantees a calculable system load without spikes even with multiple sessions. At the beginnung the sreen is transmitted in reduced 256-colours-mode; only if bandwith and time are sufficient the complete colour depth is transmitted.

Building up Netviewer remote access

This is how Netviewer works

After starting up the application, the Master program queries the server for all available Hosts.
The Netviewer server manages the list of Hosts available under this contract and communicates this information to the Master.
The Master then selects the required Host and logs on with the appropriate key.
The Netviewer server acts to mediate the connection between Master and Host.
A Master and Host that operate in the same network segment can communicate directly peer-to-peer.

Host runs on all Windows platforms NT 4 or later
Master runs on all Windows platforms Windows 95 or later
Requirements: PC with Internet access and any browser (also via proxy)
.exe files smaller than 500 KB
It is only necessary to install the host program as a Windows service. Master program runs without installation.
Firewall compatible (http tunneling via port 80)
Dynamic adjustment of color depth to the available bandwidth
160-bit ECC key used to establish connection
128-bit encryption of transferred data
8-character key phrase for authentication on host computer
